Who are your typical clients?My typical clients in this specialized area are primarily legal professionals, such as attorneys and paralegals, as well as government agencies, including regulatory bodies and law enforcement.

What do you like best about being in this industry?What I find most rewarding about consulting is the opportunity to build strong relationships with legal professionals. I enjoy the challenge of deeply understanding their specific needs and the unique circumstances of their clients, allowing me to tailor my expertise to provide strategic and effective solutions.

What are common problems you see?Legal Nurse Consultants face challenges in effectively communicating complex medical information to attorneys and navigating the distinct language and evolving regulations of the legal field.

What advice/tips do you have for clients?For Defense Medical Exams: Clarity on Communication: Explicitly state interpreter needs and recording protocols to avoid DME disruptions.Attorney Accessibility: Require defendant's attorney to be reachable by phone for immediate dispute resolution.Physician Preparedness: Provide the DME physician with the response in advance to ensure a smoother examination.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?If you're considering Legal Nurse Consulting, I'd emphasize the importance of building a strong foundation in both nursing and legal principles. Invest in continuing education, seek out mentorship from experienced LNCs, and actively network within both the legal and healthcare communities. Building those relationships and honing your skills will be crucial for success.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with family, creating lasting memories through shared experiences such as family dinners and movie night. I also find fulfillment in giving back to my community through volunteer work with Feeding Northeast Florida.
